Sodapop.nu is a dinosaur of a domain, a survivor of the highschool-girl-owns-domain-makes-websites tradition from the early 2000s, before blogs, Google, Wikipedia, and Myspace ruined the internet and transformed it into an arena for popular culture to run rampant. I myself started making websites in the summer of 1999 with a Pokemon fansite (this sounds ominous but don't let it stop you from looking around :P) and bought this domain in late 2001 as a home for my growing collective of sites dedicated to various anime and video game characters.

I've you've come here at all in the past several years, though, you'll already be aware of the fact that I'm tired of being a slave to this sort of dying website tradition. On the last domain introduction I wrote (over a year ago, a testament to my wavering enthusiasm) I struggled to define the purpose of this domain as a place "where I enshrine the interests of my 'youth,' attempt to realize my frail artistic ambitions, and preserve the old girl-makes-websites tradition from the early 2000's."

What about now? I want to make websites STUFF but without the obligations my brain has attached to this domain from its days in the dark ages. So this is really just another excuse while I work through this transition.

This domain as it stands now is taking its last gasp. I'm dead set on replacing Sodapop.nu the collective with something but I haven't quite worked out the kinks yet. Bare with me. This name might survive the chaos, I haven't decided.

Though if Sodapop.nu is really going away, it has chosen to go out with a bang in cupcake-scented, powder-puff-perfect Rococo style with a screenshot of Kirsten Dunst from the opening scene of Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette (... eating cake and getting a pedicure, no less! Don't get me wrong, though, I don't endorse indolent luxury. I just love the style).
